SCORM Best Practices

Follow these simple best practices when opening and closing SCORM lectures for a more seamless experience.

General Advice

  • Make sure you are using a stable internet connection.
  • Some SCORM lectures do not report the time until they are completed. You may not see a time recorded if your lecture is still in progress.

Mobile Specific

  • Make sure your sound for media is on.
  • Close the SCORM lecture when you navigate away from the app or browser window.
  • Use the mobile app for the best SCORM lecture experience.
  • Try opening the lecture on a computer. Some SCORM lectures do not work well on mobile.

iPhone Specific

  • Ensure you have enabled all cookies and that cross-site tracking is allowed in the phone’s settings:
Navigation: Settings > Apps > Safari.
    1. In the Privacy and Security section, turn off Prevent Cross-Site Tracking.
    2. At the end of the page, select Advanced.
    3. Turn off Block All Cookies.

Close SCORM Files

  • Closing your browser or locking your device does not save SCORM lecture progress. The course must be closed for progress to be saved.
  • Some SCORM lectures have an internal Close button. When present, this button should be used to close the lecture. If your SCORM lecture does not, there is a Save and close button on all SCORM lectures.
