Add Lectures to a Course

As soon as you have created your online course you can start adding content/lectures.

The UKG Pro Learning Solution offers a high degree of freedom on how to add lectures to a course. You can add lectures either by uploading your own files, by using web content, or by using content from your personal or public content library.

Navigation: UKG Pro LearningTraining (hover) > Courses > locate course > Manage > Edit Lectures

In the list of lectures, adjust the setting to your liking. Decide whether to allow the learners to fast-forward videos and download documents. If you want to update your lectures or add new ones, you can manage the course progress for users who have already completed the course.

From the toolbar that appears on the Edit Lecture page, you can add lectures in several ways.

From Library

Selecting the "Add lecture" image will take you to your Academy Library. A block at the bottom accommodates the lectures that already exist and an open session allows you to add new lectures by using content you have in your Academy Library with drag and drop.

The session with the block remains and follows you until you Save or Cancel.

Uploading Files

By selecting Upload Video, Upload Documents, Upload Scorm, or Upload Presentation you can upload a video file, a SCORM file, a document (.doc, .docx, .pdf), or a presentation (.ppt, .pptx).

After selecting the file type, a popup window will appear. You can edit the Title of the file, the Description and add tags. You can also select the course you want to add the file to.

Note:

  • When it comes to videos, you can add subtitles by uploading the relevant file (.vtt, .srt). Select the language before uploading.

  • You can also cancel the upload process if you have selected another file by accident for example. In order to do so you have to hover over the top bar. Once you hover, you will see the small X that appears at the top right corner. Click on the X button to remove the file from the uploader.

Using Web Content

By selecting Import from Web you can also upload web content like YouTube, Vimeo, or TED videos, Slideshare presentations, or any web page. For the most popular content sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and Slideshare we keep full track of the learner's progress and provide the instructor with analytic data about the behavior of the learner during the lecture.

When you select Import from Web, a popup window asks for the URL. Enter the desired URL or the embed code and select Fetch.

Then a popup window will appear. You can edit the Title of the lecture, the Description and add some tags. You can also select the course you want to add the file to.

Hint:
You do not have to add a description and tags each time you update the link. The next time that you need to update the URL, select the Retain Description and Tags checkbox and then select the Fetch button. Your information will be saved.
